McManus and Ross
Sierra Leone, June-July 2007

Chris McManus and Sudy Storm are in Sierra Leone until the end of July, conducting the balance of
the needs assessment and piloting some courses we built this spring.  Trish Ross spent two weeks in
country, teaching and evaluating the efficiency of the programs.

Midwives on Missions of Service (MOMS) is working closely with the District Medical Officer and staff
of the Kailahun District, in the Eastern Province of Sierra Leone.  The Jawie Chiefdom is a major part
of that area, and MOMS is focused initially on the Jawie Chiefdom, and will spread from there.

The Paramount Chief, Musa Ngombuklah Kallon, and his team are supportive in every possible way.
PC Kallon contributes his resources, contacts, and knowledge of the area (he is also a Registered
Nurse), and MOMS contributes skill in training midwives.  This is a very good relationship!
